At FG, we've embarked upon our journey of becoming a zero-waste clothing label. To set things in motion, we began by using our upcycled fabric to make cloth carry bags and face masks, in addition to donating our older inventory to charitable institutions.

In a bid to consolidate our efforts, we're proud to finally take our FG Surplus initiative online.

What is an FG surplus product?

In the intricate process of hand block-printing, embroidery work and stitching, variations are likely to come into existence. These irregularities are the hallmark of all handmade products and give each style a unique identity. Each FG garment undergoes our rigorous 7-layer Quality Check. Despite being handcrafted with the same amount of love and care, certain pieces miss out by the slightest of margins owing to the artisanal nature of their creation. These garments become part of our Surplus stock. Additionally, we hold regular workshops with our team of artisans to discuss upcoming designs, train them in new techniques and incorporate inputs from them every step of the way. The pieces created during these workshops are also made part of our Surplus stock.

Like every other decision at FG, this initiative is a product of our Core Purpose and Values.

Despite the only distinction between a fresh piece and a Surplus piece being minor variations that are a result of any artisanal process, we have created this separate section to ensure the only surprise you get when you receive your surplus piece is that of pure joy that comes with owning an artisanal FG style.

If a piece falls under the Surplus section, it is by no means ‘defected’- It’s only an indication that these garments might have minor inconsistencies like warp and weft, distressed printing or minor colour variations-  usually caught by a trained eye. These garments are made by artisans with an equal amount of love and passion as any of our other pieces.  

Brimming with sentimental value, this garment is a product of our exclusive designs, our artisans' exemplary skills and your endless love. A memento of sorts, we hope you wear this garment with pride. Sometimes, the journey is the reward.
