As disciples of design, our quest for inspiration has taken us far and wide; the passage of time has sculpted this insatiable desire for timeless aesthetics.

The year that was 2020 reignited an element of intrigue. With the clocks seemingly slower, our Design Team made the most of their time during the lockdown. Delving deeper into the history of the heritage arts of our country, the story of ‘chintz’ caught their attention. Derived from the Hindi term ‘chint’, it roughly translates to ‘bright and spotted’.

Used to describe the soft fabrics showcasing vibrant block-printed floral patterns, chintz was a textile treasure of India back in the 16th century. Soon thereafter, the British and French textile industries tried to give it their own spin, but their prints just couldn’t match their Indian counterparts; primarily because of the natural dyes being produced and used in India.

With the passage of time, the celebrated vintage French roses came into prominence across the global landscape- with little to no mention of its interesting inception. Coming a full circle, our Spring Summer Collection ’21 is a humble attempt to celebrate this mélange of chintz and French vintage roses. Led by our Design Director Ms Sana Gupta, this collection is a product of almost a year of conceptualization.

Refreshing and refined, our ‘Gulbarg’ Collection tells a poem in pastels. Literally translating to ‘Petals of a Rose’, this collection encapsulates the incomparable charm of vintage French roses in timeless Indian silhouettes. Making use of light Cotton fabrics, each style exudes a Spring-Summer vibe.
